Alisa Johnson

johnsonAlisa Johnson founded in 2011 when her husband was relocated to a base where dogs and other pets were not allowed. Her Aussies stayed with a friend, but her experience provided the impetus for her to start a website that matched foster homes to service men and women who were deployed out of the country or to a base where pets were not allowed.  It was during this process that she found out that there were no standardized pet policies in the service. Pit bulls, Cane Corsos, Mastiffs, Dobermans, German Shepherds, Wolf Hybrids and even Shiba Inus were banned on some bases and not others. She started a Facebook page, a petition, and publicized a letter to the Obama administration, all calling for standardization of pet policies in the military.
